Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Trees at Popular California Shoreline
An aircraft flying near a crowded southern California shoreline suddenly commenced twirling wildly, eventually dropping height and plunging into a line of palm groves as spectators observed.
Videos uploaded on social media capture the chopper starting to spin near the shoreline then falling towards the border of the beach, where it becomes wedged amidst palm trees and a set of stairs adjacent to the Pacific Coast highway.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders reported five people were taken to hospital involving two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were injured. Details on their condition were not immediately available.
The reason for the accident was still under investigation.
