Hungarian Writer László Krasznahorkai Receives Nobel Prize in Literature
László Krasznahorkai has awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature.
The Magyar author was recognised "for his powerful and prophetic oeuvre that, amidst cataclysmic dread, confirms the might of art."
The author has written five works of fiction and garnered many further literary honors, including the 2015's International Booker Award, and the 2013's best rendered work award in Fiction for his debut book "Satantango", a contemporary work concerning the conclusion of the world.
The writer is the second Magyar author to obtain the prize subsequent to the deceased Kertesz Imre, who received in the year 2002.
Brought into the world in 1954, László Krasznahorkai earned recognition in 1985 when he published Satantango, which he transformed for the cinema in 1994.
This black-and-white drama, by Magyar film-maker Bela Tarr, is renowned for its seven-hour length.

The award body portrayed him as "an great grand author in the European custom that extends via Franz Kafka to Bernhard Thomas, and is characterised by absurdism and distorted extremity."
His 2021 book Herscht 07769 has been described as a great modern German book, due to its accuracy in portraying the country's communal upheaval just before the COVID-19.
It is a depiction of a current small town in Thüringen, the Federal Republic of Germany, plagued by societal chaos, homicide and arson.
"Gentle colossus Florian is an orphan, adopted by a neo-Nazi who has mentored him as a street art eraser.
"His employer, a Johann Sebastian Bach fanatic, is incensed that a person is spraying wolf symbol emblems across the monuments to the famed artist in their Eastern German town."
A assessment remarked it as "therefore bleak from beginning to conclusion."
Krasznahorkai's latest ironic work, Zsömle Odavan, returns to Hungary.
The lead is 91-year-old Józsi Kada, who has a secret right to the monarchy but has made every effort to vanish from the world.
