Two Men Charged with Prison Murder of Ex-Lostprophets Vocalist Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the incarceration fatality of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, with a further six years to be served on licence, after confessing to numerous sex crimes which included the tried rape of a very young child.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
